Recently, the Guangdong Paper Industry Association announced the operation and outlook of the Guangdong paper industry in 2021.

In 2021, the output of paper and cardboard in Guangdong Province will be 24.103 million tons, accounting for 19.91% of the national output of paper and cardboard, but the output will drop by 1.05% year-on-year in 2020, the first decline in three years. In the first quarter of 2022, the output of paper and cardboard in Guangdong Province was 5.569 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 5.18%, accounting for 16.67% of the national output. Although the output in the first quarter decreased compared with 2021, it was still the highest in the past 10 years, second only to 2021 production.

As of 2021, there are 42 paper-making enterprises in Guangdong Province with an annual production capacity of over 100,000 tons of paper and cardboard, of which 7 enterprises have an annual capacity of more than 1 million, namely Nine Dragons, Liwen, Jianhui, Jinzhou, Jintian, Asia Pacific, Chenming. There are 13 enterprises with an annual production capacity of 300,000 tons to 1 million tons, and 22 enterprises with an annual production capacity of 100,000 tons to 300,000 tons.
