Cardboard | There are various factors that determine the physical properties of corrugated cardboard, you need to pay attention!
In order for the paperboard to have a good protection function, it must have a certain stacking strength, compressive strength and durability, which must be inseparable from high-quality corrugated board raw materials. Therefore, corrugated cardboard manufacturers need to pay more attention to various factors in production to ensure that the quality of the cardboard meets the standards.
Purchase and quality inspection of base paper.
As we all know, heavy-weight and low-weight corrugated base paper is much more stable than heavy-weight and low-strength corrugated base paper, and due to its stability, individual differences in physical properties of paperboard will be reduced.
Therefore, the company must do a good job of inspecting the base paper. Qualified base paper must be of good appearance and not damaged; the distribution and thickness of the fibers are uniform and there are no wrinkles; Physical properties such as strength meet the requirements. Only qualified base paper with stable performance can reduce quality problems caused by paper web shrinkage and paper surface damage at tile line.
Base paper tightness
Whether it is container board or corrugated base paper, its tightness is also an important aspect that affects the strength of corrugated board. Generally, the tightness of corrugated base paper is 0.45-0.50 g/cm3. The tightness calculation formula: tightness (g/cm3) = quantitative (g) ÷ [thickness (cm) × 10000cm2]
It can be seen from the formula that the tightness of the base paper is the weight of the base paper per unit volume, and the higher the weight, the higher the fiber density of the paper.
From the actual situation of production and testing, the higher the tightness of the corrugated base paper, the higher the stiffness, when it is processed into corrugated board, the corrugated shape is well-formed, and the flat pressing resistance is also high (ie, hand toughness is better).
flute type difference
Even if corrugated board made of the same quality of face paper and liner paper is used, its performance is also different due to the difference in flute type.
At present, there are four types of corrugated in common use in the world: type A corrugated, type B corrugated, type C corrugated and type E corrugated. The main differences are:
① Type A corrugated cardboard: It has good cushioning properties, and the corrugated cardboard made from it has a certain elasticity, which is suitable for packing fragile items and has a strong cushioning force, such as glass cups, ceramics, etc.
② Type B corrugated board: Type B corrugated board has high laying density, and corrugated board has flat surface and high loading pressure. In addition, because type B corrugated cardboard is hard and not easily damaged, it can be used to make combination boxes with complex shapes.
③ Type C corrugated: It is second only to type A corrugated, but its stiffness and impact resistance are better than those of type A corrugated; so it can save storage and transportation costs, and C-type corrugated is mainly used in Europe and the United States.
④ E-flute: Due to its thinness and density, corrugated folding carton made of E-flute has better cushioning performance than ordinary carton, and the grooved incision is beautiful, the surface is smooth, and it can be printed in color.
ambient temperature and humidity
Corrugated cardboard is more sensitive to changes in ambient temperature and humidity, especially humidity changes, so please pay attention to prevent the cardboard from bursting in dry seasons and reduce the moisture recovery of the cardboard in dry seasons. wet seasons.
Of course, we can also do special treatment to corrugated cardboard by coating and other methods to resist the influence of external environment.
adhesive
Corrugated cardboard is joined with starch adhesives.
If the bonding strength of the cardboard does not meet the requirements, the container cardboard or the front paper and the corrugated paper are easy to separate, and there will be many quality problems, such as the quality of the cardboard and the thickness not meeting the standard. , so you should also pay attention to this point.
moisture delivery
Delivery moisture refers to the moisture content in the corrugated base paper or board at the time of delivery, expressed as a percentage (%). During the production process, it is necessary to maintain a certain amount of moisture content, which is generally controlled between 7
